MANGANARI

One of the most beautiful beaches of the island and perhaps of the whole Aegean Sea. It is awarded a Blue Flag and in essence, it is not a beach but a series of sandy coves that form three large beaches and several smaller ones with fine sand and clear blue warm water. Parts of the beach are equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas and surrounded by picturesque small taverns and other parts are secluded and peaceful. The distance from Chora of Ios to Manganari is the longest one can travel on the island, about 23 km. However, the road is paved and along the way one will encounter many places with great views.

AGIA THEODOTI

Agia Theodoti initially impresses the visitor with its magnitude.  Almost 650 meters of golden sand unfold as one approaches the beach. The crystal sea of Agia Theodoti meets the horizon with a wonderful view of Heraklia and Amorgos. It is one of the quietest locations on the island, ideal for relaxation. There are parts of the beach that are equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds but there is also plenty of space where you can use your own equipment. Agia Theodoti is located at a distance of 10 km from Chora of Ios.

MYLOPOTAS

A Blue Flag awarded beach and one of the most famous beaches of the Cyclades, It is located just 3 km from Chora of Ios, it is easily accessible and offers impressive sea views along the way. Mylopotas is a beach full of activity that offers, in addition to the wonderful sand and blue sea, a range of establishments, suitable for all tastes. One can enjoy beach bars with umbrellas, sunbeds and music throughout the day, a large selection of water sports (windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing & kayaking, etc.) and a number of restaurants and taverns. Mylopotas beach is one of the most popular destinations in Ios.

PSATHI

Psathi is a large and secluded beach on the east side of the island. It is about 17km from Ios Town and the road is paved. The beach offers a part organized with umbrellas and sunbeds but also a large part where one can enjoy the absolute silence, the beautiful sea and the view to Heraklion. The beach, at the point where the road ends, is a mixture of sand and pebbles, but it is worth a little walk to discover the most beautiful, sandy part of it.

KOUMBARA

Koumbara is located very close to the port of Ios and is one of the most popular beaches on the island. It has received a Blue Flag award and it combines sea like crystal with a golden sandy beach. Furthermore, in Koumbara you can admire a special landscape and one of the most famous sunsets in Ios. The beach is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds and you can also find beach bars, restaurants and traditional taverns.

TZAMARIA

Opposite the port of Ios hides a small cove with rocks at both ends. Tzamaria, although it is so close to the port, is a beach that is not very well known. Apart from its unspoiled beauty, it possesses another big advantage, it is protected from the winds. The sea is always very calm and the water is shallow and warm. A beautiful “secret” destination where you can enjoy the sea and the surrounding nature, while gazing at the ships and boats sailing in and out of the port.
